Video Preview
We have decided to showcase our music video to our target audience. We sent out hand written invitations to a random selection of the teachers at our school, as the majority of them suit our demographic. We composed the letter using my best Victorian handwriting and fancy words to make the letter a little bit different. We have scheduled our private screening on Wednesday 2nd December (wow, December already), with refreshments, and that doesn't mean wine and cheese. We have a questionnaire for them to fill out to give us some feedback.

Audience Feedback
Our music video was also shown to another group of people and this is what they thought:
- Generally liked it, thought the scenery used fitted the genre perfectly.
- Liked the way the video ended with a close up of the artists face, then a fade out to black.
- The shot where it zooms in to the artist standing underneath the tree has a noticable tilt in it and people wondered whether this could be changed, we experimented with slowing the shot down, however this would not work and we could not cut this bit out as it would mess up the lip syncing for this part of the video, so we had to leave it the way it was.
- Some people sayed that the guitar appeared in too many shots and would of prefered her to be doing other things to give the video more variety.
Audience Feedback Questionnare
As our music video is now complete, we would like to get some feedback from an audience that are willing to watch our video and give there opinions as to what is good and if there is anything that they would change. We have decided to have a screening of our music video one lunchtime. We have sent out 35 invitations to a random selection of teachers within the school, we will get them to watch our music video and then fill in our questionnare and give back any other feedback that they might have.
Questionnare
1. Does the artist's image fit with the chosen settings in our video?
2. Does the artist's image reflect the genre of the music video?
3. Does the artist's image reflect the genre in the poster?
4. Would you purchase/ download/ or attend a gig of Beyond Victoria

Music Video
After our two days of editing, I was told by Miss Menzies to go back to the video file and slow down a particular shot, as the camera work was a bit shaky. I simply slowed it down, and it looked better. I had to put a transition after it, otherwise it looked dodgy. After putting the video and the digipack onto a DVD, I watched it back and noticed that the file had deleted some of the audio. So i had to do make another DVD.

Editing
Today, we decided to see how far we had got to. We realised that there were some touch ups needed, such as bringing takes forward so there were not any gaps. We uploaded to the computer the clips filmed last Friday, and had a look to see where they would fit into the narrative. We also discussed the possible effects we could use, such as fading and overlays. We felt that they would fit in well with the narrative and would add effect to the video as a lot of it doesn't have special effects. We finished the day with a good idea as to how much we had to do on our set editing day.
Editing
Due to the fact that a boy was not available for our music video, we are scrapping the idea of a boy's face being her boyfriend shown on Facebook. When watching our edited version of our music video so far it looks out of place in contrast to the rest of our video, so we are planning to cut this bit out and either find some footage we have already filmed to fill this gap, or film Henry, who could take the place of the boy in our video instead. He would be filmed walking down the lane that is already in the video.

Editing
We have a scheduled day for editing, which is Wednesday 11th November. We hope to get the majority of the editing done that day and the burning of the CD into our Digipack
Filming
As mentioned in my previous post, Suzy and I decided to film one lunchtime, the final scenes in our music video, to complete the narrative. We decided that the path behind E block would be best, as we had filmed there before and would link into previous shots we had filmed there. We went down to the drama studio to find a suitable coat, as a suit would definitely not suit the Mise en scene (no pun intended :D) After we got shots of me walking away, towards the camera and sitting down on a hill looking all moody and upset.
Editing
Last Wednesday, all three of us went to E3 and edited a part of our video. We took pieces out that were repeated or weren't related to our narrative. We collectively decided that we needed to film one last thing. That was the male role. The use of Facebook in our video didn't look as good as we hoped and it didn't make much sense. So Suzy and I planned to go and film those particular scenes at a lunchtime.

Editing
we have begun to edit our music video further, we have encountered a few problems along the way as, we have a few shots on our storyboard that we are no longer using, therefore we decided to film some filler shots of nature such as leaves falling, trees blowing in the wind, we also decided it would be best if we had a boy in our music video to add to the narrative, so Henry and i filmed him sitting, looking sad away from the camera to show the pain in his face, we did a close up of his face and him walking away from the camera. now that we have filmed this we can continue to edit and focus on making it really good.
Link to Poster in Music Video
The album cover is a picture of our artist wearing a red dress standing next to a tree. This instantly gives the viewers of the poster an image of the artist. It shows that she is connected with nature. To make our artist recognisable we used this same location when filming our music video, with our artist wearing the same dress, as consumers like to see somthing they have seen before, as it makes them feel connected with the artist. The natural lighting appears almost exactly the same in the video as it is on the album cover. By doing this, consumers of the music video can relate to our artist more as they will have previously seen this image. This helps to promote her image as it is establishing her style.
Meanings portrayed in our Music Video
Our music video has many shots of nature included and we thought that we could use the change in seasons as a continuous theme throughout the video. This theme is also used to represent our artist's emotions during the video. By doing this we are linking the narrative to the visuals. The change from autumn to summer represents our artist's change in feeling. Autumn portrays her as fragile, like a leaf falling. This works because a leaf doesn't have control of when it falls; nature decides it. In the video, our artist doesn't have control of how she feels at the beginning; she is decided by her boyfriend. Summer shows a positive change in her life. The light, hot season portraying well the feeling of happiness, and inner strength shining through in the end making her a "Stronger Woman".

Promotional Poster
Here is the poster, which now has the Artists name, the album name and the featured song. It also shows the release date, which is in Autumn and that relates to when our video was made. It includes the price that the album is being sold at and a picture of the album cover in the corner of the poster.
Filming
Our group has now uploaded the filming that we did yesterday, so it is all complete now. Our song has now been successfully put on to Final Cut Express.

Filming
In todays lesson we decided that we should finish off our filming as the weather was nice. I filmed a low angle shot of the sun through the trees and then a zoom in and out of flowers, panning of the trees and a long distance shot of fields to try and include more nature within our video. We experimented filming leaves falling from the tree by standing above the camera and throwing them down; however when watching this played back on Final Cut Express, the leaves are blurred, therefore you can't tell they are leaves. Hopefully we now have enough footage to make our music video and we can use this part of filming as a filler.

Filming
As I was off ill for a week with Swine Flu, I was not able to do any filming. I contacted the group to let them know I wouldn't be able to take part in any of the filming and I managed to give the story board to Suzy, so the group could do the filming properly. The majority of filming had to be done within the week I was ill to meet the deadline, as after half term we were going on to editing. Looking at the footage our group had already collected it looks like we may need to film a bit more, so I could get this done as I need to do some filming. For example, some establishing shots and some shots of outside need to be included along with leaves blowing across the ground, which will show that time has passed during the video. This again shows the transition between Autumn and Summer, which is a positive change in the message of our song. It shows that over time she has grown and has become a "Stronger Woman".
Poster
Looking at the poster which Ruby had designed, it turns out that we need a lot more writing on it. For example, the album name, the title track, the release date, the price, the record company etc etc. All this can be found on our other digipack pieces.

Editing
Today, Ruby and I decided to test out some editing techniques using Final Cut Express. The shot where the artist is cycling over the bridge was shot from three different angles. We cut them down so that it looked like she was going over the bridge in one take, but from three different angles. We had to speed up the last little bit because she was cycling very slowly, to ensure it looked smooth. After we fiddled around with what we could do and examined the footage to see which bits would look best. We then came to the conclusion that we needed a few extra shots to fill in the narrative, which wont necessarily need to be showing the artist.

Editing
Today we uploaded our video to final cut express ready for us to edit next lesson, we encountered a problem, because our audio file was in the wrong format so we could not import our song, so we have to change the format ready for next lesson.
